Most RTS games use a selection box (click, drag, unclick), which would be difficult to accomplish using a gamepad.
Multiwinia always focuses the camera to the mouse position; most RTS games make you hold down the right or middle mouse button to change the camera angle.

The Single City Mode is quite interesting.....the game I had resulted in everyone tied with 0 points (survivor scoring, everybody dies!) at the end. Team Scoring Modes

As suggested by several people, I'd like to see team scoring options. No defections, either a total or average score of the team, and the game displays a team victory at the end.
