Valve have made several comments about the effect of reducing price on sales. Namely, that reducing the price by half can more than double your sales, so in the end you may make more by selling it cheaper. They even mentioned that one indie game (they didn't say which) got something ridiculous like...

I've had the same problem on numerous occasion now, stretching back to the beta before release. I've included debug.txt from the most recent occurence but it pretty much matches what is posted above. Symptom: - Game crashes immediatly after launching, before any menu's etc. appear, but after switchi...

Wise words indeed. From my own experiance developing games, I would add / emphasise the following: 1) Scope. As is pointed out above... "think of a number and double it". No matter how long you think something will take, you will always underestimate the amount of work involved. Developing...

I have seen problems like this with my own router, though not specifically with Defcon. If it's running a heavy firewall on the router and there is a lot of heavy ethernet traffic like movie streaming, particularly if it's multicast, the router will be working really hard processing all the packets....

Ridiculous to have a game that cannot be run on the same key on LAN mode. Its just irritating and begging for more money. Yes i know the game is cheap but all modern games have lan on one key modes. It should definatly be added in a patch if it isnt already in the game. ChaZ The game can be run on ...

The first problem is a "New Game" by default advertises on both the LAN and the MetaServer. So if someone want to play against AI opponents they must unselect list in Meta and LAN. That is means as soon as a game is started regardless of whether it was intended for the multiplayer it was ...

[Bug] Game option crash

Search was broken so couldn't see if anyone had mentioned this before. When setting game options, if you choose the game mode and quickly click on the score mode, you can open the score dialogue, even for a game mode with a locked score mode (survivor etc.) - you can then attempt to choose a differe...

My internet connection's been too dodgy to post since hte game, just wanted to say a big thankyou to Hoxe and Warped for putting on the event, and to everyone who played. Brilliant fun, I thoroughly enjoyed being slaughtered! My own game EU3 was a total, humiliating failure for me - I seriously need...

From experiance with IV's pervious games I'd say that it's at least possible that will work. Uplink could be shunted from folder to folder, or run accross the network without problems, as could Darwinia (as far as I know). So, I see no reason Defcon shoudn't follow suit, though whether you will actu...
