Re: [Suggestion] Staff training / enhancement
- Staff should be delivered by truck (bus?) when hired I could go for that, but it wouldn't be a big deal for me either way. - Staff could have flaws (smugler, sadic, lazy, etc) Yes please! If a prison guard has a negative attribute, you'd have to make the interesting choice between firing him (and...

Re: [Suggestion] Staff training / enhancement
Staff should also become slightly more effective with seniority. For example, the guards who have been around since the prison opened should be more effective than younger, newly recruited "fresh from the academy" prison guards. I like it. This feature alone would provide a nice gameplay ...

Re: Methadone program doesn't seem to run: "ALL ROOMS BOOKED
Have you tried designing your prison with the common areas in the center of the map with all cell blocks routed to the center? Yep. The problem with travel time seems to be mostly due to locked doors -- the game does not do a good job of assigning the task of unlocking doors to nearby guards (per t...

Re: Methadone program doesn't seem to run: "ALL ROOMS BOOKED
check if the infirmary is not staff only. You called it Mozzarellaman, it was staff only. After I set it back to Shared, the program started to work. Thanks. The wording on ALL ROOMS BOOKED is a bit misleading. Suggest changing it to something more factual and accurate, like NO ROOM AVAILABLE. Thou...

[Suggestion] Staff training / enhancement
One of the more enjoyable aspects of Theme Hospital was training up your staff to make them more effective. Now that we have reform programs in PA, I think it would make a lot of sense to have training programs for your staff, not just for the prisoners. Each staff member could have a numeric score ...

Methadone program doesn't seem to run: "ALL ROOMS BOOKED"
Not sure whether there's a bug or I'm just missing something about how the Methadone program is supposed to work. In the Programs list, I have "5 in queue" for the Methadone treatment. When I try to start the program I see a red flashing message that reads "ALL ROOMS BOOKED" wher...

I had this problem too. Wanted to rearrange the layout of the machines in my workshop, and couldn't do it because only prisoners can store or dump workshop supplies/equipment, and the storage room is Staff Only. I think there are a couple of separate issues here * Workmen should be able to store/dum...

Successful install on Gentoo Linux
Just reporting that I was able to install and play the game just fine via Steam on Gentoo amd64 + XFCE.
Of course, getting Steam installed on Gentoo was a slight pain in the ass, but that's not IV's problem =)
Thanks for the Linux port!

In praise of Planning Mode
I know from personal experience that when you design something, people are quick to point out what they don't like or what they want changed, but rarely take the time to voice their appreciation for the things they do like. So I just wanted to take a moment to give a textual high-five to Chris for t...

Suggestion: Bonuses for rooms that are bigger than required
Various rooms have a minimum size (3x2 for cells, 4x4 for offices, and so on). It would be interesting if rooms conferred a bonus of some kind if they are larger than the minimum. So, if you put a prisoner in a 3x3 cell instead of the standard 3x2, maybe some of his needs are better satisfied. If yo...

I've been playing a bit more on non-continuous intake, and it really is completely bonkers how long it takes to get your prisoners after making the cells available. Not sure the best way to resolve this, but how about a non-continuous mode where you can choose when to request a new batch of prisoner...

Why not have prisoners released? After they severed their time.. Yeah, I'm all for that as well, but I still think the intake options need some work. The idea of limited sentences actually complements the idea of having a population cap quite well. If you were at population cap, and then 5 prisoner...

[Suggestion] Additional intake options
Currently the only options for prisoner intake are ⋅ Continuous (some per day forever) or ⋅ Non-continuous (only when cells are ready) I feel like neither of these options really hits the sweet spot. I like the idea of having some pressure to keep on expanding, but the issue with...
