Thanks :) I just saw the thread about the problem in 'The Future' forum.

I think my pinky is going to hurt from jumping between shift and control so much, but thank goodness there's a solution. I wish the faster camera and straight-line movement was default!

What the heck happened to the path finding in 1.1?!?

I haven't played in a while so I was excited to see the new patch notes. But after one game on Barriers To Progress I don't think I want to play anymore. Almost every single movement order I wanted to give, they wanted to zig way back to some spawn, then to where I wanted them to go. Just the slight...

Since when? Where are all the 360 games with free online multiplayer? ;) The fact that it is possible doesn't mean it exists. But in this case it would. EA would gladly be going completely around LIVE (instead of through it) if they could. So would several other big publishers and developers. But M...

Nah, the PC version would already be using LIVE for online play if they were going to do cross-platform play. Again, a game on the Xbox360 doesn't need to use LIVE to have multiplayer. Ergo it's perfectly feasible for the 360 version to play the PC version if the metaserver handles both. NeoThermic...

Nah, the PC version would already be using LIVE for online play if they were going to do cross-platform play. Plus, I'd hate to be using a controller against a mouser! I like playing with a controller as much as anyone, but I know I'm going to be a slower with the orders on the 360. Which is fine wi...

I often leave rooms open and browse the web, like I'm doing right now (with enough of the game still visible in the background to see when someone joins). I'm actually looking forward to the 360 version just for the matchmaking. And maybe more people will be playing that one, at least at first. Two ...

Futurewinians trying to land in mega rage, lol.

I just saw a Futurewinian UFO suck up an incredible number of my guys, but then they tried to stream down to the ground right in the middle of a huge crowd (of at least 300) and mega rage went off. They didn't even seem to touch the ground :) There was just grey streaming down into rage laser spew g...

An overall volume control would be great, but I'd just love to turn the damn turrets down (when you take manual control of a gun turret they're incredibly loud!).

I think Multiwinia is a little more strategic than people give it credit for. I wouldn't call it "casual." Against the AI it can be fun and casual, but same for DEFCON. Against a good opponent it's vicious :) I prefer Multiwinia because it's faster and I love the randomness the crates brin...

One game I opened 5 or 6 crates and every single one of them was Slow Down. And my opponent's first crate was Speed Up! I think he got some more useful ones after that. I remember losing slowly and laughing at each new Slow Down. If my opponent quits early I sometimes finish off the AI if I'm gettin...

Manual turret control. Use it!

One thing I don't see enough people doing is taking direct control of their turrets.

Absolutely essential!

They're approximately 1000x more effect when you take control. Their range exceeds their automatic targeting radius. Aim low and sweep.

I love what IV did with Defcon... but its a minor title and "it is what it is". Playing AAA titles like EVE Online and Supreme Commander makes one really appreciate well done, high quality games with big budgets and staff. Defcon kept me interested for a few weeks and then i "cracked...

2 cents I'd like to add: If you want to learn object-oriented programming, don't worry much about which language you learn with. At all but the lowest levels, OOP is OOP. Don't start by focusing on learning the nitty gritty details of a particular language, trying to become a "<pick a language>...
