Oh, thanks :-)

The verb "to hack" is not limited to access of a computer system.

Profile files, and 'hacking' them...

OK, so I was bored... So I figured if all the config files are plain text, maybe the profile files are too. Well, nearly. They're 'garbled'. So I ungarbled them One question remains - is the "key" the same for all Darwinias, or is it generated at install? In either case it would be easy to derive th...

OK so, thinking about it, there isn't really a definitive statement on how to actually use a mod. oh... great... To actually use a Darwinia mod, first you have to complete the game. There are ways around this, but all mods will assume you completed the game from a story line PoV Yeah, I did that at...

Loading a mod: HOW?!?

Excuse me for possibly being dim, but how the heck do I install/use a mod?? I can go into the menu and it says "Mod selected: none" (or similar words) - so I click "Unload" in the hope that it would say "OK, so what DO you want instead?" but no, all the levels vanish. I've unpacked the RAR to the Da...

As stated in the Demo the Darwinians wanted to go to other computer systems. It'd be very easy to do something with that. Start in the Yard, build a space shuttle (like the one in the demo) and head off. Then you arrive in another computer and have to do..something. What that something is, I don't ...

Ooh thanks :-)

TBH I would have liked to have seen more tech levels, more units.. something about the depth of Dune2! But n/m, it was still a fun 18 hours!

Think I'll go sleep now, and find out if I'm still seeing virii when I close my eyes...

Haha, love the story! :D Love the demoscene tracks!! IMO the tracks should be listed & made available on the homepage in MP3 format (yes I know you can grab the OGGs out of the .dat) with links to the groups/artists pages. TBH I'd have liked to have seen a MODplayer in there, but c'est la vie. ...

Can't you put your product key into Steam as proof of purchase and get it bound to your Steam account?

hehe they must never make buying pizza this easy or Im in big trouble... In the UK you can buy pizza like that... and it's easier!! One month I did spend rather a lot on pizza, though. With regards to SLi - I don't know if it's how Darwinia calculates framerate but I couldn't get it above 30FPS. At...

I would imagine that it would be possible to get the data files from Steam (it would be unfortunate if you could not, as modding is so dependant upon being able to play with those files), and grab the Linux executable so that you could play under Linux. However, I know next to nothing about Steam, ...

Pfft! You should stick to 0:00 UTC! (Which just happens to be GMT, but that's just lucky coincidence  ) What this does mean, though, is that a game made by a UK company is being released in the final hour of the "release date" by UK time. It would have been more accurate to say it would be rel...
