I had thought 0 and 255 were some kind of special case, but I was wrong. My bad! Close, but not quite. The highest value in a given subnet is a broadcast IP. All systems in the subnet answer to it. The lowest value in a given subnet is considered a network address. That basically identifies what ne...

Yeah, I kinda agree with you... I don't like sony consoles much. But the new PS3 is supposed to be more powerful than the XB360, and you can't argue with that kind of market penitration. If it has a hard drive, I may be forced to buy one. Three general-purpose processors versus one general-purpose ...

I dunno, I saw bluish smoke coming from the tailpipe of a Cobalt SS. :/ That's usually not a good thing. I have to say, I'm glad I have a pre-Ecotec Saturn. The Ecotec engines just don't seem to have as much kick as the 1.9L Saturn DOHC engine (to be honest, I can't say that from personal experience...

Waiting until you finish the game before you try mods might not be such a good idea. You can't technically "finish" Uplink unless you are disavowed. :)

But, yeah, I recommend playing through the storyline without mods first.

Haha, I remember that little thing. 'twas clever, indeed. I had trouble getting Onlink to work as well. I basically had to disable the sound from the command prompt (errr...the argument to do that is somewhere on the Onlink forum) and then keep trying it until it worked. After you get it working the...

The new version will, by default, set the game resolution to 800x600. You can increase it in the options screen after you restart (I recommend 1024x768 on 17" monitors -- any higher and the small text tends to get hard to read).

Nice name, by the way. :)

American cars are cheaper, but badly built and ineffecient. I'm finding it harder and harder to take you seriously. You obviously have no idea what kind of abuse the Chevy Cavalier (ESPECIALLY the older ones) can live through. I know someone who had 280,000 miles on their motor and was lax about ch...

Still, there's basically NO reason to use a 3 liter engine with current technology. Uh, the van is a 1993, and I should probably mention, if I haven't already, that it's a Japanese engine (since some people here seem to have this idea that only American-made engines are "big"). It's just a matter o...

Your example has little bearing on reality and only covers a single model of a single manufacturer. First of all, one of the more popular cars on the road in my area (especially due to the major sales on the 2004/2005's when Chevy phased them out) is the Chevy Cavalier, which has an economic 4-cylin...

Look up about 10 centimeters. <_< 3) Like I said, the port is done. Right now, we need moki (andrew at ASW) to verify that it doesn't override the registration requirement. This is the biggest wait we'll have. No, it's not available for download for OS X. Ambrosia is verifying it to make sure that y...

I honestly don't believe they still put V8's in family sedans. That just seems very excessive to me. I mean, I can see putting a powerful V8 in something like a 'Vette (if you can afford the payments on that, odds are you can pay to fill up the tank). I'm quite happy with my 4-banger. Not only is it...

Would you pay 25 grand for a super-compact? No? THAT's why the US uses so much gas. That's assuming that someone HAS 25 grand for a super-compact or, for that matter, no need for anything larger. I own a little '95 Saturn SC2 and know for a fact that if I head of a family that car simply wouldn't w...

when it says 32 gigaquads, it dosent really mean its one single chip with 32 memory, it gives you 4 memory chips each with 8 gigaquads of memory. To elaborate even further, if you don't have enough open slots available it won't let you buy them at all. For example, if you have three of four slots b...
