A Stop 50 is usually drivers, then components, then memory. Since you've switched out drivers, and since it seems pretty consistently time-based, I'd tend to ask: does the PC seem to last a little longer after you've left it off for a while? A Stop 50 after a regular X amount of time playing a game ...

I've been working on a realism mod as well, but more gameplay-related than aesthetic. I haven't mentioned it on the Dev forum, because I still haven't gotten access to it despite having sent in an email over a week ago. PM if you want to talk about changes.

Notoriously easy to hack for *you* :-). The AI sees it a bit differently. They need an agent rating of somewhere around 8 to get through any server classified as "government." It's a hardcoded constant in the code, and there's no distinction made for different government servers. Which is why I didn...

And BTW, yes, your rank will improve even if you never do these missions. You get points per successful mission; the harder the mission, the more points and the faster you advance. But there's nothing requiring you to take a particular mission to advance.

Maybe I didn't explain myself clearly.
You *don't* want to use any government servers. Banks, either.

And, of course, it goes without saying that you'll need to try it on a new mission, not one that you've had and/or have tried a few times.

I was having precisely the same problem -- but not particularly consistently. I knew I was doing everything right, but sometimes there would simply be no arrest. Fortunately, I just recently got my Dev CD. :-) And I think I have guess as to what the issue is, though I haven't tested it thoroughly (i...

I looked through the source code, and it seems that it iterates through all log entries, not just the oldest one. On the empirical side, I've done it many times without ever deleting old logs -- I'd have LOADS of old log entries in there, and the missions would still work fine. I believe you're righ...

Introvision IP -- the anti-hint

So I'd been playing around with Uplink for a while, but wasn't sure if I'd found all the secrets and easter eggs. I ended up hitting Modlink and Icepick's fine Ultimate Uplink Guide. Went into the Secrets section, saw the "possible spoilers" warning, and went for my Back button, but my eye couldn't ...
