Try FreeSQL. It's not that fast and has some limits, I used it for a while before I bought myself a new host that supported mysql.
I think this is what you're looking for... It should work pretty well :).

As Darksun explained in the previous post, Uplink was created/coded in Microsoft Visual C++...

Try to enable DMA (direct memory access)... You can find it under 'System' in the control panel (I think it's under the IDE devices).

This solved the problem when my CD-RW got out of memory and it took over 20min to write a cd (normally it takes ~3min).
