something Id really like to know is why you always have separate linux/ windows tests. why dont you simply rely on SDL for both so you have only to maintain one source? Because the windows version uses DirectSound for its sound, while the linux and Mac versions don't because you don't have DirectX ...

They all just bring their SDL.dll along: http://download.gna.org/warzone/ and they are still being distributet b...

you need linux-restricted modules and xorg-driver-fglrx. (i might be wrong with the package names) then run dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg. If fglrx still does not show up there open your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and change the line "Driver" "ati" to "Driver" "fglrx".

its bad enough that my shiny firefox cant use its fast XML parser; it should not be made worse by letting it parse the pages in Quirks Mode. I thought that the XML parser was actually slower than the tag soup parser, as it has less work concentrated on it. (I am a validation freak, though...) the X...

thats what ANSI C is for...

except the missing Doctype - they could at least put any compatible Browser in the standards compilance mode.

64bit builds?

have you thought about releasing native 64bit builds? this should be only one compiler run more, but help running darwinia nativley in future 64bit envoirments.

the automatically enabled sse2 optimizations would be an additonal benefit.

But you did no favour to the linux folks by using wmv - AVI/XviD is still the least common denominator.
The best choice would be OGM/x264 but I understand that you have to consider compatibility...
