OK, that's odd. Today Multiwinia started up without downloading the patch and the version number now says 1.2.0

So somehow, it's now patched. I think we're all fixed up.

It doesn't appear that I have a autopatch_debug.txt in any of the multiwinia directories. I do see 3 backup directories as if Multiwinia has been backed up. Those directory names are : 09/27/2008 04:34 PM <DIR> backup_20080927_01 10/15/2008 04:49 PM <DIR> backup_20081015_01 10/26/2008 05:12 PM <DIR>...

Patch wants to load every time

WHen I start Multiwinia it's now downloading a new set of files (apparently the patch) upon startup. When I go to "Help and Options" it still says "Patch available. When I shut down and restart Multiwinia again it downloads the new files again. It appears that my game is not recognizi...

Well, I'm certainly learning all those strategies as I play. But I was really starting this thread to see if anyone else's impression of the game has changed over their first week of playing it. I guess my first impression was that there wasn't much deapth to the game. It seemed that the number of u...

Changing point of view about DEFCON

When I first downloaded DEFCON and played the tutorial I thought "OK, it's a cool game for about $10. But there doesn't seem to be much deapth to it." I played a few games and I won a few, lost a few. It seemed kind of random as to how to play. There didn't seem to be much technique to act...

Found it! My Dell Computer came with PC Chillin Security on it. That firewall was blocking the ports.

OK, I opened Defcon in my Windows Firewall, and then I opened the 4 ports as UDP in my firewall. I can now connect to games that other people have set up, but they cannot connect to games that I have set up. This same syptom occurs on my LAN. I can set up a game on my 2nd computer (Call it Machine B...

I've won a few times with the opposite strategy. I leave my silos in anti aircraft mode and launch fighters so I have a lot of possibility to shoot down incoming ICBMs. Once my enemy has used up his ICBM's I then launch an extreme counter strike. So at times, it seems to be good to wait before strik...

I bought the boxed version and yesterday I downloaded the game and authenticated with the key that was emailed to me. In the near future I will receive the boxed version. Will that boxed version use the same authentication code? I do have 2 computers and I'd like to be able to play on both of them. ...

My idea for a mod

I wrote a backstory for a mod I'd like to start working on. I don't think I've posted this before so I'll post it here. I hope you enjoy it. ************* Darwinian Winter. It’s been a year since Dr. Sepulveda and a mysterious visitor saved Darwinia from a vicious viral attack. Darwinia has been run...

Darwinia makes Top 10 Games of the year at Game Tunnel

http://www.gametunnel.com/articles.php?id=412 Darwinia made #7 of the top 10 games of the year on Game Tunnel's website. Here's an example of what they have to say: Screenshots don't begin to convey how you'll feel when you play this game. You really start to care about the Darwinians. Introversion...

I really think the answer is marketing. It's pretty easy to order, even here in the states. I paid the full price and I still think it was worth it. We just need to get the word out in the States.

Tell all your friends, let's all get at least one or two friends to buy a copy.
