I got my DEFCON from the Introversion mirror. You might have a bad connection.

It confuses me the way allies can turn off ceasefire without you knowing and then attack you without defecting. I think alliance and ceasefire should be tied, unless anyone can put forward a case for them not to be. EDIT: that was unclear. I can understand why you would want a ceasefire without an a...

From PC Gamer (UK): "Defcon makes a game of trying to control an entire country's arsenal with your bare cursor"

Not my words, but they capture the spirit of the game well. So no group-select, etc.

Not necessarily necessary (?), but the element of dynamic alliances is definitely an important dimension of the game. I've been fortunate enough to specatate on a game of top-notch players, alliances making and breaking every five minutes. It was really exciting to watch, let alone play. If you don'...

Just one unit would not work because it would upset the rock-paper-scissors balance of the game, and I don't really understand Chesscon, but I really like the rest of the ideas. Especially the scenario one.
The turn-based one looks good too.

Just as you pick targets now. You select the silo and pick the targets. Then you could hit said button for all qued silos and they would launch on the targets you had chosen for them. Really its just pust in a delay, an extra step in launching. Though you could focus on other things while your silo...

Re: Quoting

1. Did you even read everything? The reason I doubled all the health is explained later on. 2. Then DONT LAUNCH ANYTHING UNTIL DEFCON 1.... fool! 3.-Who the hell walks these days?? -Bunkers are there, because you don't have enough Silo's to defend your hole territory 4. That's why i'm making it up ...

The more customisability the better! Leave the 'default' setting the way it is but for experts it could add a new dimension to the game.

I don't think it would be all that useful. The nature of DEFCON games means they're not all that well-disposed to saving. Just start a new game. I really would like to see a 'save replay' feature, though. I don't know if this is possible thaks to the way DEFCON games are coded, but it would be reall...

Anything engulfed in the white plume of a nuke is destroyed. So targeting land where you think there's a building is a sound strategy. Nukes can also hit ships, though obviously they are not very effective.
