Alright, seems as if the problem lies not in the rendering of a quad, but in the modification of a large texture every frame. I'm looking to switch to a 2d software renderer now, so I'll give SDL a whirl, but are there any other 2d software renderers around that anyone knows about. Thanks for the re...

Interesting idea, but when I tried it, it actually slowed down things just about as much. This, I believe is due to the size of the texture (currently 800x600). Thanks anyway though.

I guess now I'm wondering if OpenGL is open source, and if so, where can I find it?

I attempted the method, and unfortunately it is just as slow. The main problem with this is that I am coding a raytracer in opengl, which affects every pixel individually. The code of the raytracer is not slowing it down; I can remove the code and make the pixels merely draw black and still have the...

Random Coding Question

Hello. I have been running through the internet for quite a while, trying to either find the OpenGL source or to find a solution to my problem. However, as both attempts have been unsuccessful, I figured I might as well run it by various forum communities. I have been trying to find a way to draw a ...

Actually, the statement someone made that anyone who jumps on the bandwagon late when it is obviously closed is suspicious of trying that tactic is what scared me into submission. I dared not vote for any wolf after that. Toast if I did, toast if I didn't.

Damn I am awesome. 2 saves out of 4? Yeah. Was that luck or were are you that damn good at anticipating the moves of the wolves? I PMed ynbniar and daset, and told each of them that the other was the GA. I was hoping that one of them was a wolf, and would kill the other, thus clinching the deal. Ho...

Alright, well, to ensure that no further time is wasted, I will go ahead and end this game. It is pretty clear that I am going to be lynched, and since I am the last wolf, then it is game over. I expect TheGoldFish to post a conclusion, etc. soon. Anyways, I figure I may as well post some final thou...

Woo. I'm toast. But whatever, I just got PM'd (by someone who wishes to remain anonymous) to vote for ynbniar. Enjoy everyone.

Well, I'm back, and now with two votes apparently. Lucky me. Well, I guess I defend myself here then. Yeah, I voted for Ace Rimmer for suggesting a plan first round. That is really the only thing I can pick up from all these pages of chatter, so here goes again. Ace Rimmer Edit: Does my vote still c...

Well, here I am again, and I must say that this whole game seems to have blown up. This has gotta be the most interesting game of TWG I've ever seen.

Anyways, I'm going to vote for Ace Rimmer again since suspicion has been building on him. Here's to jumping on the second largest bandwagon now.

Well, seems like after all those pages of garbage there is no real reason to vote for anyone. However, Ace Rimmer seems a mite suspicious for suggesting a "Plan". I don't like it, so that's all I got.

Wow. I've already missed four pages. Anyways, until I sift through it all, I am going to go ahead and bandwagon and vote for Kunshu (retracted). Probably going to retract it once I read through everything, however.
