I, too, have this problem except I can run PA at least in Safe Mode. Bought it yesterday, Saturday, 2016-07-02, during Steam Summer Sale. Don't know what else to contribute – it just crashes in Normal Mode every time just like jc1980 describes it. Tried to re-install the game, restarted Steam and PC...
