I haven't had any trouble quitting in the 4d version, despite what happened in 4b.

I just experianced a degredation of playability, with the Alt menu not switching to other tabs, both via WASD and mouse. Cursor would move, but no switch. Key press, and no switch. After playing for no more than 4 minutes, mostly on the Alt screen, I quit, using Esc, then mousing to the button. Screen froze, no reaction at that point, after clicking the Exit button. Only way out was to Command-Option-CTRL- Esc (force quit) which brought up the normal app crashed dialog. No bla...

In single level b4, you can't use the cheat to get the research done. I'll try the 3 button mode.. It's also very difficult to get the Officer to switch to a different mode- follow vs nothing, etc. Squad firing works very well with left click & hold. Let me see how it operates with 3 button.
