No, I've had about as much trouble joining Steam games as non-Steam ones. Either you will find after some more trying that really there is no difference between joining those, or you have a completely different problem than mine.

It's also entirely possible that the servers you are trying to join are badly configured -- aka port forwarding is not enabled, etc., and thus no one can join them. Introversion games always have been a little choosy about sound cards. I had a similar problem back when Darwinia was coming out. The problem only went away after I changed my sound card.

No luck. My modem really is just that - a modem. There's no way it would filter incoming or outgoing traffic on its own. So I'm back to start. Sorry trickfred, I didn't see that. When I first read your post, there was only the first line. The help you edited in later. But no, technically the modem is not a router and has no hardware firewall. Thus I can't configure it. Thanks for your help anyway.
