Slow Time Mutator: Some Problems and Suggestions

So, obviously, there's a problem when your day takes a long, long time, but the prisoners' needs still tick away at the same rate -- that's a serious design flaw that needs to be fixed. (I did locate a mod ( Needs for Slow Time on Large Maps ) to handle this for the moment. Still haven't figured out...

Re: Not all criminals are uneducated

So hey, I had kinda given up on this game getting good updates, but a couple days ago I logged in for the first time in ages, and bam! new startup screen, a brand-new Mutator mechanic, and a few other random things. Neat! (Only problem right now: I've had to look into modding, because the slow-time ...

Set Staff Priorities

I really have no idea what sort of hierarchy my staff are using, but I'd like to be able to set Policy options about what my staff ought to be doing. For example, "Prioritize Mail Distribution." So that the guards who aren't doing other things will mosey on over to the mail rooms and sort ...

Re: [Suggestion] Expand the guard's needs system

I'd like to at least see the ability to give guards a break -- tell a guard with few to no needs to go replace a guard who's getting exhausted or Pissed Off. Right now, I can't see any way to swap them out, even though I've got a passel of happy guards milling about Reception, Deliveries, Security, ...

Re: Not all criminals are uneducated

Heck, how about this? Assume that the prison you start with is pretty low-ranking, and thus gets only uneducated prisoners. However, you can do certain things to increase the quality of incoming prisoners. Maybe one of the Wardens has the special of attracting prisoners with higher chances of educat...

Babies of Dead Mothers Should Be Picked Up by Family (if possible)

Storing a baby on a hearse is just horrifying. Even assuming the family picked the kid up offscreen, the idea of a baby trying to nurse on its mother's dead body until the family can get the kid is... brrr. Or just sitting there crying until released. When a mother who dies has a family, the family ...

Re: Wardens optionally start with random researches done

Okay, came up with potentially a better idea. When you sell a prison and start a new one from the money, your warden has some experience. This is counted as time units, perhaps six hours (four or five would also be acceptable numbers). So the more times you keep building functional prisons and move ...

Wardens optionally start with random researches done

I'm getting bored of the normal research tree, and would like to see an option in the game setup where I could have my Warden start with some amount of research already done. It strikes me that certain research topics might be far more beneficial to have early than others -- and that this might lead...

Not all criminals are uneducated

I realize that poor education is a problem that often leads to crime, but the idea that 100% of criminals coming into the prison are so uneducated that they can't even sort library books or mail is not realistic and, to be honest, it's a little offensive. You can't, like, divide humans into "ed...

Process Prisoner Immediately Command, and Other Commands

I am sick of seeing prisoners waiting around in the intake area, while guards mill about doing nothing, and the prisoners haven't even been brought into the prison. I have no idea whether it's assigned to a guard who is off somewhere else in the prison or what, but it should be possible to prod the ...

Re: Room Requirements: Minimum Size

To be honest you're the first person I've heard complaining about this, and if it ticks you off so much, why not just learn to mod (which is incredibly easy) so you can remove the size requirements? "Why not just learn to mod?" is just as patronizing as it sounds. It prevents people from ...

Re: [Suggestion] Full hotkey support

I'm after an easier way to dismantle or unlock doors. Trying to unlock a bunch of doors at once (in an area not set up to be connected) is tedious, as is telling the crew to dismantle all the things in a given area. (Actually, shouldn't there be a way to click-and-drag over items, perhaps while hold...

Re: A real prisoner reviews Prison Architect

I'm glad to hear the perspective of a person who's gone through that. There are so many details that I'm glad I have no reason to know firsthand, and yet they are reality for a couple million people in the U.S. alone. Little things that I would never have thought of. Now you've got me wondering how ...

Re: I made the most spectacular video!

Interesting idea for a video series! I don't think I've seen anything like it on YouTube before. It's not the sort of thing I'd watch, at least where it's at right now, but keep it up and maybe I'll run into it again later and like it better. It took Markiplier only a couple years to get over a mill...

People who commit crimes are not 100% illiterate >:(

So this has been bugging me for a while: You can't set up any prisoners in your library until they've passed a class. It takes longer than 24 hours to research the classroom setup (given all the prerequisites and other areas I need to get up and running for efficiency), and multiple days to have the...
