Exactly, a Pentium 4 HT will make your machine act as if you have two processors. I did a test recently to see if dual HT processors would act like 4 virtual processors. Sure enough, and I've got the screenshot to show it:

Maybe someone with a Dev CD (who isn't as lazy as I am) should (re)compile it on a 2.4 kernel for you. Since I only have a 2.6 kernel on my linux box, I'd be forced to use VMware. And we all know (maybe) that you can only achieve about half the speed in VMware. Hence, I'm lazy. It's also possible so...
