Re: (Suggestion) Guards with Personalities
The folk at IV have a world view that is reflected in the game that they have produced. This point-of-view permeates the game, including the sandbox mode. It goes without saying that IVSoftware have said that they DON'T want to impose their beliefs/views on the game, so they have implemented punish...

Re: (Suggestion) Guards with Personalities
Right now you barely care that you lost a guard. That is 100% true. If you lose 10 guards, you click "staff", click "guard", and plop down 10 more, which makes losing a guard nothing more than a minor nuisance. I think that (optionally, via the create-a-prison menu) we should ha...

Re: (Suggestion) Guards with Personalities
Why not just make it an option, like events and gangs? If you don't want super micromanagement, then don't pick "Guard Personalities". However, I would love nothing more than to see (at the very minimum) guard names and perhaps procedurally generated bios, with 3 separate parts picked from...

Open Beta for Prison Architect v1?
Heyya. First off, congrats on the Prison Architect launch! :D Second of all, I want to make sure that you guys know that I'm not trying to be "that guy". You know, the guy who always says "gimme gimme gimme!". However, I think it would be really good to release an open beta of v1...

Re: Multiplayer mode - using escape and normal mode?
Multiplayer where all of the players are prisoners *might* be functional, depending on how much time is spent thinking about balancing issues and whatnot. I personally believe that a multiplayer mode where every player is a prisoner is a brilliant idea, but as far as I know there's a lot of effort t...

Re: Welcome to Prison Architect Tablet version!
I haven't gotten an e-mail and yet I can post here.
I have an android tablet, so could I have some instructions as to how to download the mobile prison architect game? Presumably I'm a beta tester because I can post this post. :p

Re: Prison Architect Alpha 36
My "potato" withstand theft auto 5 (not an advertisement) without any lags. But PA acceleration x3 is like a real time: 1 minute ingame = 1 sec of real life with just 300 prisoners and 150 staff. I play this game from the Alpha 8 and the only obstacle for purchase is such awful speed (tho...

[Suggestion] Being able to store books in bookshelves?
Heyya.
At the moment, placing a bookshelf in a prisoner's cell is rather pointless, apart from the bonus to the cell's quality. I think that prisoners should be able to store a couple of books in their bookshelf, and they can pick up the book and read it whenever they want.

Re: Some prisoners should be educated
+1. I think this should be much more common with minimum security prisoners, because min-sec guys probably don't come from a nasty home (Who's more likely to come from crimeville? Mr. Fraud or Mr. Triple-Pre-Meditated-Murder? :P). I also believe that educated prisoners should have special actions, s...

Re: [Question] Make a prisoner do something using a script?
So, apparently I need to create an ActiveNeedProvider. Anyone know how to do this? :P EDIT: I can't even set the prisoner's "Action" variable (under his Needs array... Look in a savegame for an example) to "Sleep". I think this is a good place to start. Forget the ActiveNeedProvi...

Re: require() - safe to use?
Hi. Unfortunately, the require() function isn't in Prison Architect's lua system, for security reasons. I'm not sure what evil things you could do with the require() function, and I've seen other games (such as KSP and Minecraft) allow their modders full access to the coding engine without any conse...

Re: [Question] Make a prisoner do something using a script?
For instance, if I want my prisoner to be sleeping (with only his head shown and whatnot), I'm not sure how I would accomplish that.

Re: Multiplayer?! Versus Mode?
I've really liked the idea of a multiplayer mode, too. Here's how it works... First off, I would connect to a server. Once I'm in, the game will ask me to input a new password (I'll explain...). Then, I can choose whether I want to control a prisoner already in the game, or if I want to be one of th...
