Go check 2nd hand bookstores too (or simple go to the public library?) I got a very good, 682 p, Programming in C by Sybex for only 5 euro!! Hate to admit it but for C the best books are the older bigger ones.. not so fency and flashy ones.. yet the usualy cover more than most newer... C is not a ne...

Tried a network installation? Or buy the cd's for about $ 30 or less nowadays! Sometimes even Public Libraries lend them .. at least here in the Netherlands they do this! So far that's the only solution we have. If you save it once after a good run in the game, you don't have to startover from scratch all the time.
