Re: What should we focus on next?

Would love to see doors fleshed out. Normal doors opening instead of sliding, have little animations so we can tell which way they would open before placing them, etc. :)

My bad, I was checking it with AIvsAI matches for a quick test and as it turns out, it's only available in real matches, so never mind.

Population colour-change removed?

Was away for a while and I noticed that an old feature was removed. In the early days, when I'd set two different colours for water, shores and other stuff, they would slowly change to the secondary one as the world population gets killed. But now with the patches, no such change occurs. I've downlo...

All the links pointing to the mp3 music are dead, and everywhere I looked, all the still-online Uplink music are in non-mp3 format. Does anyone have the mp3s uploaded somewhere or know a decent converter that can put s3m into mp3?

EDIT: never mind, found a freeware prog that helped me out...

Gratulations on the release. Too bad that the pre-university arrangments got all my time during summer and had no time to test the beta more. I really wanted to make it to the testers' list in the credits in this one. Maybe next time. :-)

Love to see a game company employee interested in their fans. :) As for my music interest: mostly '70-'90s rock, such as Queen, Scorpions, Kiss, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Guns N' Roses (up 'till Axel made every other member leave), Jimmi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and of course, The Rolling Stones. ...

I must say, that Maxis really made a technological marvel here. All this complex animating, texturing and body-part positioning compressed into a tiny PNG file. It's not really all that complex. All the animating is generated by the game itself, so it doesn't need to be stored. And the texturing is...

Bandwith is not an issue. The editor itself is arond 200MB and all my 27 creatures only take up 700kB of disc space (not even 1MB!). They made an awesome job at minimizing disc-space and bandwith requirements.

Also, some of you are posting PNGs that can't be imported. If the filename ends in "_lrg" it doesn't seem to work. Use the download link, not the picture in the Sporepedia. Won't link the importable PNG, you can find them on my profile if you need them.:) This way people see the bigger pi...

I was wondering when will this show up here. :) I've been waiting for this ever since the 2005 GDC presentation (first ever mention of Spore to the public). I even paid for the editor (will get the full price back when I buy the final game :) ). I must say, that Maxis really made a technological mar...

I only smoked marijuana once in the Netherlands. I was in a group of exchange students from my original school and we spent a week in a small Holland town. We took a trip to Amsterdam and some of my friends bought a few joints. The next day we were supposed to be in the host-school's gym to practice...

Mine is nothing special. I used to be "Bruce" & "Commander" back when Runescape was just starting but it was taken by someone else, so I had to come up with a new one. And at that time I was reading a Hungarian fantasy novel which had three brothers in it, one of them named &...

I have read the original short story and really stirred up my imagination. He managed to picture the whole cult and the background surrounding the whole Cthulhu mystery so believeably. I've always dreamed about a perfect movie adaptation. All the foundation are there, only need a faithful screenwrit...
