It would be interesting for you to have a job make money and use it to bribe guards to keep your contraband, or go to stores and buy contraband or have it smuggled in for you by using the telphones or visitation

I had dismantled a staff door in one staff room, and then some of guards started using staff doors to eat the food instead of showing the food and such. it was kinda funny. When the worker removed the staffdoor from the room in it's box it seemed the bug no logger happened.
