Should be possible to do it in Java also.
Hell, you could do it in in VB or even Flash, I guess!

I was wondering in what Programming Language Uplink might have been written. In about 2 years I have to create a huge finalwork for my studies, and it seems like fun to create something like UpLink. (With some more features and graphics probably.)

Does anybody have any knowledge about this.

Well, in game they also say on the news server that the server you killed will need to have a complete replacing of the OS. This can in fact be done in a matter of minutes. (Well, not entirely, but it would still be back online)
