Re: [Suggestion] Expand the guard's needs system
The developers have explained why the family and sleep needs were excluded. Real-life prison guards do shifts, and regularly go home to see their loved ones, and sleep. Since shift work would be difficult to simulate in Prison Architect, the guards are on site 24/7, and they don't have needs which t...

Re: [Idea] air-conditioner -> Cold room for kitchen & Mor
A Storage Shelf could allow six objects to be stored in a 1*2 tile space.
This would make cold rooms more useful.

[Suggestion] Health tech tree
The game can have a branch of the Bureaucracy specific for health management. * Doctors are replaced by Nurses , who are available from start, with essentially the same functions. * The Health bureaucracy allows the Infirmary, and the Physician , a unique character who requires an Office, and resear...

The Master Chef could also be called Quartermaster. An office would be required.

[Suggestion] Video phone
A video phone is an object which functions as a telephone. It fulfills the Family need better, but costs more, and requires more electricity.
It can be unlocked through the Surveillance bureaucracy.

Re: [Idea] air-conditioner -> Cold room for kitchen & Mor
A cold room would be useful to save space and electricity in the kitchen. Another idea is to have a Food Packager; a machine where a prisoner can pack food servings for later consumption, or for export. These objects can unlocked through the Food Management bureaucracy. It allows the Quartermaster, ...

Re: With Dormitories, are Cells redundant?
Dormitories only takes in one prisoner per bed place. In other words, a Dormitory with only one regular bed, still functions as a cell, providing privacy and all. Recently noticed that a Dormitory has a minimum size of 4 tiles per prisoner, and needs to be 2*3 tiles even though Small Cells have been...

With Dormitories, are Cells redundant?
Cells take in one prisoner. Dormitories take in as many prisoners as there are bed places. If you designate a Dormitory with a bed (not a bunk bed), it is in practice the same thing as a Cell. Are there any reasons to designate a Cell anymore, or are they redundant? Is there a reason to have two dif...

[Suggestion] Furlough
A furlough system can allow prisoners to leave the site for a limited time, to take care of their needs. The furlough hearing functions as a parole hearing, taking 1-2 hours. Open for low to medium security prisoners, who have not been transferred, on furlough or punished for 48 hours. As for parole...

Re: [Suggestion] Protestors, Inhumanity, Etc.
A good idea.
There could also be measures to improve public relations. For instance, you could invite a State Prison Inspector, who walks through your facilities, to examine them.

[Suggestion] Power Tools
The Foreman should be able to research Power Tools.
Advantage: Workmen will move and work faster when within reach of electric power.
Drawbacks: Costs $100 per Workman. Each of them carries a Drill, which can be stolen by prisoners. More electric power is also needed.

Re: [Suggestion] - New reputations
Bully: When he really wants an object used by another prisoner (phone, weight machine, etc) he demands it. The other prisoner can let go, or refuse (which would start a fight). This trait would make equipment shortage more of a security risk. It could be expanded to a "pecking order" wher...

Re: [Suggestion] Room 101: Enhanced interrogation techniques
Torture has been used in post-1945 prisons in the Western world, though not always within official protocol.
As said, it would be optional.
