Re: [Mod] Minor Game Tweaks

The "metal" caps on most liquor bottles wont set off metal detectors. A lot of metals that dont react to magnetism dont set off walk through metal detectors.

Re: Room Icons Mod V3.0

Jasper you really should stop including other peoples stuff in your mods without permission. Its getting old.

Good news: for this particular mod you dont need to. Why care about using the original mods art? Use your own. Its not difficult.

Re: A small question about getting lua libraries and such

Since the source of any mod is bare and visible ALL MODS ARE SAFE. The only way having those features would be unsafe is if there was no way to confirm what a mod was doing because it had to be compiled by the modder prior to uploading. Kerbal space program has precompiled mods. They just require th...

Re: A small question about getting lua libraries and such

DontStarve has had require available since it officially supported modding. Know how many malicious mods have been made? ZERO The ability to have networking in a mod is always a benifit. Guarding against 'what if' is an asininely stupid concept. The code is VISIBLE for crying out loud. You cant hide...

Re: Navigating toward one out of many of the same object?

Not violent, blunt. And I dont see a point in saying something other than the truth. GamingDude is very motivated but is wasting his own time by not doing things the proper way. It is an utter dis-service to him to lie and say anything other than the truth. He would learn a lot faster and ACTUALY BE...

Re: Navigating toward one out of many of the same object?

So we're back at a point where GamingDudes issues are because he wont spend 1-2 evenings on a website just learning basic lua syntax ?

You are wasting far more time trying to do something that you cant understand than if you spent the same time just properly learning the basics.

Re: Room Icons Mod

But then THEIR mod doesnt. This is still a compatibility issue that you NEED TO LIST. So much for trying to give you credit for doing a good job for once.

Re: searching for objects and setting one to a variable

it lets you chose local names for those sections as you loop over each element in the table. But no matter what name you choose it doesnt change them. Do you know what values are returned by the object lookup? for a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h in pairs(someTable) do ...stuff end you can list as few or as many var...

Re: fire detector problem

Making a statement that suggests he did something wrong _IS_ a complaint. I think your english syntax is bad too. Its also impossible to test something until its syntax is correct. You cant test bad syntax because its not valid code while the syntax is bad. Its somewhere between utterly broken and u...

Re: fire detector problem

The code you copied is basic syntax. You're fine cause stuff like that is gonna end up being done the same way no matter who writes the code.

GamingDude is bad at syntax so doesnt realize this. Ignore his complaint

Re: Object not spawning

If you didnt match up your end statements then it absolutely is NOT WORKING. Its just not breaking in a way you realize yet.

No. You need to learn basic syntax. Having it published doesnt matter if you cant understand what you're doing.

LEARN SYNTAX FIRST

Re: Object not spawning

His problem is he STILL is not matching up his END statements. Until he learns that there is no point in trying to help.

Stop modding. Spend a day or two learning basic syntax. There is no point in trying to do something complex when you cant even write nested IF statements.

Re: A small question about getting lua libraries and such

For -a- reason. Not a good one. Dont Starve still allows modders to include socket handling. Hell socket handling is one of the most basic things modders enjoy having access to and is used in many MANY games to provide legitimate features.
