Yep, I at least could use more time... Then again, I had an attack of RL, and have still not even managed to get past the second isolation bridge - I'm almost sure I know what to do, but getting myself and the PC in working order at the same time is taxing... Anyway, I tried... :D And I've enjoyed i...

I'm Welsh, with roots through most of the rest of the british isles. I also loved MGS, MGS2, and the VR missions. I also enjoyed Hitman - the same combination of meticulous planning and high-stakes action that makes Uplink so addictive.

Hey, Icepick, can I get some clarification? Are we allowed to haul down multiple copies of the download and try the run a couple of times, or is it a one hit, cold entry, and best hacker wins kind of a thing?

Thanks,

Hey, don't be too rough on yourself. It's not like the options menu is obvious, or accessible without logging out, for that matter - and how often is any serious Uplinker actually logged out? I only found it whilst trying to get multi-screen running over a null-modem cable...

If you've got the V1.2 patch, it comes with the natty bits you need to change the resolution (in the options menu). Otherwise, I'm afraid you're out of luck. But it's worth downloading the patch, not just for the resolution choices, but for all the funkier bits you can do with the program (check out...

Hi, everyone - back from the dead (or as near as may be...) Alas, my (never that hot) skills are rusty, but be sure I'll be there to try... I can't get less than one point, right? Good to see how Uplink's prospered while I was AFK, and special thanks to Icepick for this very cool idea. Later, folks ...

It's inhumane! When was the last time you saw goats and small children sacrificing satan worshippers, eh? It's unfair... unless... what if the small children and goats just hide the evidence better... I'm scared now... Gulp... There's a baby in a pram outside my window... I'M DOOMED!! THEY'RE COMING...

If it is, either Bill Gates is a puppet ruler (not impossible) or they have security-men hide the letters at conferences... Thinking about it, it would explain why he's always being followed round by bodyguards carrying buckets of sand... Hmm...

Pretty much the way it goes - Warezers gouge companies, companies gouge me, I sit under my scrap of tarpaulin in the rain and try to work out whether I prefer eating or having honour... lol And if you want a really evil company, try Ubersoft (C/O "helpdesk", a comic on keenspot). I promise...

Hi, I'm back from hiatus, and I thought this would be a good place to start. First and foremost, everyone please remember that I'm a bit of a fanatic, and that this subject is something of a raw nerve, so if I go over the top, please cut me some slack until I can cool off and come back to edit the w...

:) It's not really a huge problem, just have to remember which ones to be kind and friendly, and which to intimidate. Possibly it correlates to processing power - the CPU has quite a lot, and hence can be cajoled like a toddler, but the peripherals can't really string cause and effect together in th...

:) My bet's on the tech - Anytime I own a computer for more than a month, it starts exhibiting "personality" type quirks. One of them howls whenever I turn it on. Another refuses to read the CD drive if the room is above 18 degrees centigrade... The third refuses to boot without me putting...

Hi, Raven - Thought you'd like to know, my browser'll link through again, so either you've fixed it, or my idiosyncratic tech has decided I deserve to read it again... Either way, thanks for the time.

Hi, Raven, AOL's kind of what I'm stuck with, but life goes on - at least it's flat rate, and cheap, right? ;) Hope the transfer goes well - I'd offer a hand, but I'm probably not up to your standard, considering your page. :D Anyway, my mail's appended somewhere if you do need a hand (Or an ear to ...
