It's the number of letters in each number from one to ten, i.e.

one has three letters
two has three letters
three has five letters
etc.

Another weird bit of trivia. All four seasons have names containing exactly six letters.

The 'Network' option is just so you can have two screens to play the game on, e.g. one screen for the map, and another for the rest.
