[Missing?] School Desks in Alpha 20
I started a new prison in Alpha 20 (think I sold a previous); but when I went to create the classroom, there is no school desk in the objects menu. The office desk does not highlight as well (when zoomed into the room "Classroom") like it used to. Not sure if I have a buggy save or somethi...

Re: Inmate Flow & Multiple Rooms
Thank you so much for the very helpful information! I can't believe I didn't mark the showers (there's a n00b move); as for the number of things, I am not at all aware of how much of anything in particular is needed for certain populations. I figured the food serving was all during the time given, t...

Inmate Flow & Multiple Rooms
I was reading this thread on tip & tricks and noticed there was some discussion on having multiple rooms/zones. What I'm seeing with my 300-ish inmates prison is that I cannot get inmates to use the nearest room. I've got them using both Laundries, but I have one Kitchen with two Canteens (one o...

Re: [Suggestion] Electrical Wiring Crossover
That photo is from Hoover Dam in Nevada (USA). Yeah, generators are not in series (several electrical reasons why), there's usually a bridging device to combine and add up the voltage (amps stay the same, obviously). I love how planning ahead IS really rewarded in the game... unless that planning ah...

Re: how about a way to convert a save game file into blue pr
I think saving blueprints for a particular room type is an interesting idea, saving the setup for a room would be a useful concept. Kind of like a bigger clone button. However blueprints for a whole prison, i dont see the benefit in. This sounds more like saving Clone Blocks or Sets. That's a good ...

Re: [SUGGESTION] Text-Tool for Planing Mode
It would also be a great tool to convert existing (built) prisons into layout/blanks. User benpowerman started a thread on blueprints and any text-tool for planning would be made even cooler by having a convert-to-layout tab...

Re: how about a way to convert a save game file into blue pr
It would be INCREDIBLY EASY! It's all just text! Just run it through a filter of some type (bash a nice awk or grep) and replace the wall types with the layout wall, and the floor types as pathways (or limit to just the metal / fast paths?) and the various objects would be converted to the layout &q...

Looks nice... for windows users. Maybe one day I'll see if it works under WINE.
I'm on Linux.

Re: Any tips on the grant Inmate Nutrition Research?
I've also heard that doing the High Quality first does not complete this. Every time I've done it, I set Low/Low and waited for the percentage to complete (set only a single, 1-hour eat time in the regimine). Once the low-quality is done, go to High/High and add the other two eating times (again, I ...

Re: [Suggestion] Electrical Wiring Crossover
Maybe we could just have "Power Station" renamed to "Circuit Breaker" to avoid confusion? Then the capacitors can be additional circuits or something (higher AMP breakers, etc). Power should come from the municipal grid, then we could have an optional emergency backup generator! ...

Multi-Core CPU use
Are there plans to have Prison Architect take advantage of multi-core CPU's? I just started a medium-sized map, planned out a large 360-ish cell prison, and when I went to drop in the foundation (125m x 108m) the game mostly chokes. Even on the fastest time setting, it is slower than normal time on ...

Re: Electric Power Stations cancelling each other
Yeah, I figured out that the Power Stations are actually (essentially) Circuit Breakers. The common mistake I made actually is how electric generation works, the generators feed into the system, but the circuits are separated by the breakers, etc. I saw someone's 700+ inmate prison and saw the isola...

I tar-balled my 3+ MB save-file, if you want to take a look at it. It is ~359kB tar.gz'd and can be found HERE (my dropbox)

Electric Power Stations cancelling each other
As my small prison grew to over 100 inmates, my power demands exceeded the two (2) Power Stations I had running the place for so long. Simple, I just added two (2) more units in the utility block (yes, I planned ahead) - unfortunately, this does not seem to work at all. No matter where (on the map) ...

Re: Upgrading to a Higher Tier
I'm trying to make a donation via the PayPal page, but the form that I'm given is forcing me to select a county in the UK rather than a state in the US. This happens even if I change the country in the top drop-down box. I really want to donate and get the upgrade, but this is a showstopper. I just...
