Re: March 2014 poll : What next?
That sounds terrible (and I think it's something that they removed). Just let us get rid of the valuation penalty, but slowly and perhaps make it costly. So you tell me, you actually feel challenged by the game? Hmm, the only challenge for me is to let the prison grow bigger and bigger and to make ...

Re: March 2014 poll : What next?
It's really great that the devs include the community as much as they do as well. I had a good chuckle over that one. The lawyer thing actually sounds pretty intriguing. Why not get penalty points and have your "Prison Manager license" revoked after stacking up too many of those? This wou...

Re: Devs loaded dev version of Alpha 18 on Steam
Yes, this is why companies such as Paradox, who maintain very close relations to their community (many project leaders are active almost daily on the forums), suck at their feature lists and their transparency. Who needs developer diaries anyway...The stupid mob of users is only good for one thing a...

Re: Killer dogs gone wild
Well, since dogs don't go into the kennel anymore (as of alpha 17), firing them was what I first thought of as well. With the same result by the way, the dogs without their handler went amok and caused a full-scale prison riot.

Re: Critique on Introversion
Why is this discussion always steered towards the term 'investment' and does not really cover the core of my statement in the opening post? To clear things up a little: You guys seem to define 'investment' based on a financial point of view. Xander, thank you very much for quoting a wikipedia entry ...

Re: Critique on Introversion
First of all, I feel misunderstood. Buying the game long before even a release date is within sight, is not an investment in the company, it is an investment in the product itself. I, like many others, invested very little money in this product in order for it being developed in the first place. Sin...

Re: Critique on Introversion
When you make an investment, you gain control over how your money is spent. This only applies for large-scale investments. IV marketed a certain idea and I, like 300,000 other people, gave them (little) money in order for them to be able to finance the development of their idea. If I open a bar and...

Re: Critique on Introversion
The whole point of early access is to find people who are willing to invest in a game in order for it to be developed. Whatever the marketing said, without the users paying for the game in advance, PA would not be what it is today. In how far is this different from an investment? Whatever you call i...

Critique on Introversion
First of all, I want to state the obvious: PA is build on a great concept, it is tons of fun even in Alpha, it is captivating and overall a great game. This is probably the reason why so many people bought in on the concept and invested their money in Introversion in order for them to be able to fun...

Re: Alpha 17 rumors/expectations
Since we can all be regarded as shareholders/investors in this project, everyone is entitled to demand anything. Of course, IV does not have to comply with the demand. However, it is not like we were alpha testers and are only supposed to provide feedback. We gave them our money out of trust and sup...

Re: (Suggestion) Staff Skill Points and education
The problem with PA in my opinion is, that it lacks long-time motivation. Once you have figured the workshops out there really is not much more to do rather than just being an architect. No real long-term planning is required, everything else is unsolicitous. They need to add challenges. One challen...

Nobody cares for that? Am I seriously the only one who wants more micro management for staff?

(Suggestion) Staff Skill Points and education
I would really love to have to micro manage the staff as well. First of all, I find it very important for them to have basic skill points based on their profession. For example, Guards can have a Skill called "Detecting Contraband". Depending on their proficiency they are more likely to de...
