Re: Chefs going to the wrong kitchen

Ah yes.... kitchens... Kitchens (and various other rooms too) have some major issues and bugs history to them when you are trying to create more than one. In the current alpha (#22) a lot of long standing bugs have been fixed or at least been worked on. Kitchens included. Unfortunately, there still ...

Re: Holding cells not working

You're welcome. :) It's been ages since I played the tutorial back in alpha 14. I'm not sure how long the tutorial was around in its current before that, but I don't think it has gotten any (major) updates. So generally speaking that would mean the tutorial is currently very outdated in regards to t...

Re: Holding cells not working

As a quick reference, here are three holding cells: http://i.imgur.com/nHmccPO.jpg The first holding cell is zoned correctly. The zoned area (the checkerboard pattern that you see) is fit tightly inside the walls. The second one is not zoned correctly, because the tile underneath the door is also zo...

Re: [BUG] Problem with Classroom

It may very well be a gameplay issue, rather than a bug. Just to make sure, let's check the obvious first. Did you zone the classroom as such? Are the classrooms accessible for the prisoner (classroom is assigned a suitable min-max-med-all) security)? Assuming you have, note that programs are done d...

Re: Launch problems help please

In this post there is a mention that the game executable may be falsely reported as dangerous or infected by some anti-virus programs. The linked page in that post has a list with details, with McAfee being a very notable one seeminly still reporting it as such. Any chance the executable may have be...

Re: Problem with the interface

The + key on the keypad doesn't work for me either, but the plus and minus at the top of the keyboard did. If that doesn't work you could also edit your preferences.txt file. I am not sure where it is saved on Mac (Google tells me it may be at ~/Library/Application Support/Prison Architect). Open up...

Re: Plumbing and pipe system question

This may happen if you are primarily using small pipes, as they can only transport water over a limited range (I think 40 tiles). You will want to use large pipes to transport most of the water throughout your prison. Then use the small pipes to branch off the large ones to connect sinks, toilets, s...

Re: [Bug] Warden pathfinding

Offices are assigned to hired people (warden, accountant, etcetera) in the order they where zoned. So the very first room that is zoned as an office gets assigned to the first hired person, the second zoned office to the second hired person and so on.You will need to de-zone the top office (same way...

Re: Game Crashing!

ScreenWindowed false Could you try setting "ScreenWindowed" to "true" and see if the game starts this way? Mayhap the problem only occurs when trying to start in full-screen mode. He already tried in safemode, which automatically forces a screened window. I'd recommend we wait f...

Re: Game Crashing!

Earlier you wrote that you have Windows 7 64 bit and an ATI Radeon HD 5450 video card. With that information I located the driver download page that is suitable for you. You can find it at this link . There are two downloads on that page: pick the top one (Catalyst Software Suite, 256 MB). Download ...

Re: Can someone in the community help me?

Can you download files at the library? If yes, an option could be to have someone download the mods, zip them up and upload them to a file sharing service. But this assumes that it is okay when talking copyrights, which may be tricky.

Re: Game Crashing!

The catalyst part may come into play later, since we first need to figure out what is going wrong with your Prison Architect. Is the error message in the debug.txt still the same? I know I sound a bit like I'm nagging, but since that file is the best place to start troubleshooting, I'm going to ask ...

Re: Game Crashing!

Good news in the sense that your preferences are now found. Let's try and get this sorted out. First, in the image that you uploaded in your opening post, the game suggest a resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels, which may mean that your monitor does not support a higher resolution. In your last debug.txt...

Re: Game Crashing!

Sorry, I meant to ask if the debug.txt file still displays the same error about the preferences.txt file not found, now that you have created it yourself. If not, could you copy/paste the content of the file here? Do you know what type of video card you have? If it is an NVidia, you can find drivers...

Re: Game Crashing!

The bugbash issue was mostly about a username issue where non-default characters in usernames didn't save the game. But that is secondary to your problem, as the game needs to be running in the first place. Given your username though, the issue does not apply to you. You indicate that you have creat...
