It would be cool if the employees at your prison had personalities... this would require a revamped hiring process (no more ploping down guards... you need to find applicants and choose them). I would like to see improvement on planning mode... the ability to move or rotate your plans, specify rooms as part of the design, tell your workmen to start building the design, etc... There is a lot they could do here to make it better.

Not sure if you realize, but there is a 10k bonus for being incident free, 1k for each day up to 10 days. So it is not unusual to drop quickly from 8,000 per day to -2k per day. My thoughts are that giving too big a reward for "days without an incident" can be dangerous for players... or at least it should not show up on the balance sheet the way it does. You can build a prison that might rely on that money; if one incident occurs, you will have to eliminate staff...
