Re: Agent -AI Architecture for prisoners.

In PA, the AI can be split up in two distinct systems that drives entity actions: needs (only prisoners) and jobs (both prisoners and staff). Every update cycle of the prisoner, the needs are updated, if a need crosses a certain treshold (time to action) they will try and satisfy that need by lookin...

Re: [Suggestion] Less useless suggestions

Or a reddit like voting system for suggestions where people can give a rating to suggestions, so useless suggestions eventually disappear and the best rise to the top.

Re: Someone share the game crack on internet

It's kinda pathetic to steal alpha software, which is meant to provide a budget and early feedback to the developers and isn't even a real game yet

Re: [Modding] Map Renderer in HTML5

And there's another project I can trash... :P Was working on the same I wouldn't look at it like that, the more similar projects, more chance of one actually getting finished + I think the op (and I do) are doing it to learn - how to build the code behind a tiled map. It might be useful in the long...

Re: [Modding] Map Renderer in HTML5

Hehe, I just started the same thing, but in C++/SDL/Opengl :) But I'm not just rendering, it's actually a map editor. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--jAUDH6e2xQ/Uic73drgDVI/AAAAAAAAAOs/bYxVYCP38K0/s1600/pame-wip.jpg But it's cool you did it in HTML5, I wouldn't know how to do that. Wouldn't that get a bi...

you could a) write your own prison architect exe from scratch b) wait until they release the source (which they seem to do eventually with every game they write) Speaking of it... the amount of effort to find out which language they program in (by searching the forum for example) is nothing compared...

I think it's not easy as a developer to listen to every single idea that people are shouting to them and analyse it to see if it fits the game while at the same time having your own ideas that you try to implement. I expect a game to be of good quality, designed by skilled game designers... not a pi...

well.. chris demonstrated tunnels already on the eurogamer expo in september 2012, so it woudn't be very surprising that after almost a year the tunneling feature is ready to be released.

Didn't Chris take any holiday in August? I've seen him playing Kerbal Space Program (thx, now I'm addicted too), and I hope he enjoyed a bit of nice weather and fresh air, away from his PC. So he is all ready to start a big end-of-year crunch. edit: 13 is also an unlucky number that is sometimes ski...

They can bribe a guard in return for keys with a sack of cash. The rake can be a weapon to knock out a guard and the hose to disable a metal detector (+ letting it explode to knock out the guard standing next to it). I can't wait to see all the prisoners using contraband against you, it can make the...

Suppose I want to make my paths in grass and have it surrounded with tiles, how will that work? I want them to walk on the grass, not the concrete, but there is no property of the floor tiles that says it is only to be used for paths. I think it's all nice and efficient that they walk in straight li...

First of all, it's not really related to how good your computer is. The game is prone to slowdowns even on best of the best computers. But the slowdown is related to map size, number of inmates, number of guards, etc, moreso than it is related to hardware or running time of the program. https://www...

Also I think when the game gets more complete, there will probably be more missions/scenarios and other types of events to keep you busy. Because things might be a bit boring now with the lack of features, you want it faster, it might be different when all features, and the scenario/missions are in.

I would move that point 1 to the very end of the list. I've you're a former game dev, you must have heard about premature optimization.
