Re: Help: finding objects and setting them to a variable

If you're trying to get the number of objects in the table returned by GetNearbyObjects, you're going to have to manually iterate through it and count the iterations. tonumber() won't work for that.

Re: Attempt to compare with a nil value

The end at line 59 ends your Update function. Everything below that is no longer inside it.

My guess is to prevent mods from uploading malicious software to users.

Re: Object property type

Use tonumber() to convert the strings you get back into a number.

Re: [MOD] Need Help

Nope, haven't really tried it out. It's not really used by anyone I reckon, given how clunky it is.

Re: [MOD] Need Help

The game using objects.png instead of your sprites.png was caused by the missing 's', yes. After fixing that I noticed it wasn't drawing correctly, which was caused by the wrong coordinates (x 7 → 6, y 1 → 0). For staff you should also use rotatetype 1 instead of 0. For more information on rotatetyp...

Re: [help] Annoying grey lines on edges

The game compresses the sprite graphic files inside the engine before drawing them. This causes compression loss, causing stray pixels to cross over into adjacent sprites. Those are the grey lines you see. The only way to avoid this would be to have a space between all of the game's individual sprit...

Re: [MOD] Need Help

Checked your files, there's nothing wrong with your sprites, but your file name is indeed wrong, as Knoest pointed out. It should be called sprites.png NOT sprite.png (you forgot the 's'). This is why your mod wasn't loading it. Your materials.txt file was a little off as well, the sprite coordinate...

Most likely there's something wrong with your sprites.png file. Post it here for us to see.

Re: [Tutorial] RotateTypes Explained

RotateType 1 and 3 have another difference: RotateType 3 sprites are arranged with walls, RotateType 1 sprites are not! Are you talking about the AttachToWall tag? (materials.txt) It's true that a lot of objects using RotateType 3 have this tag set to true, but it is in no way related to the Rotate...

In other news, Jasper has been kicked off the PoW team.

What's that I taste? Could it be... Mmm, yes. The unmistakable taste of ironic justice.

Re: Your admission to playing FFXII on an emulator

I do not wish for this to become a big deal Then why did you bring this to a public forum? You could've asked them this directly via their support page or even a direct e-mail. The only reason you would ask this question here is to up the drama. Also, you serious? The game is 8 years old and no lon...

Re: [NEW USERS, READ FIRST] This is NOT the Alpha forum!

I cannot hand that key over because it is a security risk. How is showing your product key to the company you bought it from a security risk? I've had to contact Steam support some years ago due to my account having been hijacked, and I had to show some of my CD-keys linked to it then as well as a ...
