Prison Architect in Ubuntu

In the linux version of PA, there are two executables - .i686 and .x86_64. I have to assume these are the 32 bit and 64 bit versions. If I run the 64 bit version, the game crashes on every save. My computer also tends to heat pretty rapidly. The game runs fine with the i686 version. My problem is th...

Standalone version of bugbash releases?

Is it possible to get? I tried copying the steam files, but the game won't run.

No cashflow

Normally, I would just file a bug report and move on. However, in this instance, help fixing the issue would be very appreciated because otherwise my savegame is essentially broken. I have a positive cashflow (+$7000) but no money comes in every hour. My balance is in the negatives, negative $1200. ...

Let's talk about fire

So, I set my prison on fire to see exactly what it does. This is what I found. - It causes almost no injury. It seems strange actually - sometimes people die, but they have to be standing directly on top of the fire for a while before they even start to take damage. The entire kennel was on fire, ye...

Re: [Suggestion] Guard training programs

I also agree that the training programs shouldn't be voluntary - rather, you should open as many slots as you want and those slots will be filled automatically by any guard.

Re: Alpha 18 Question

Despite it being useless, I also find classroom lessons really gratifying. I was so proud of Mr. Dayner when he received his GED! I fondly watched him leave, holding an education diploma for the first time in his life. Then he somehow got himself stuck inside a bugged "no access" wall, for...

Re: Taser feedback

Tiny, tiny, insignificant, unimportant sidenote - "Taser" is misspelled as "Tazer" in the game.

Re: [Suggestion] Prisoner Crowd and Dispersion Behavior

I really like this kind of idea, and I've been in support of it for a while. I also do recall this being posted in a previous thread, as xander mentioned, but I can't find it either. I have to wonder about CERT - is it really necessary to program an entire new unit? I mean, at the base, they would b...

Re: [suggesstion] Bridgesq

I could see features like allowing prisoners to swim, boat patrols and escape via swimming coming into the game, but I'm not really sure why IV introduced lakes this early when anything related is probably months, if not years, away.

Re: Friendly Fire for Armed Guard

I know sniper rifles are planned for the game, but I have to hope that regular rifles/pistols are introduced as well. Shotguns are hard to just shoot one person with, and can result in more friendly fire as mentioned here. Actually, I don't see any reason why you couldn't arm your guards with a pist...

Re: [Suggestion] Expensive but effective security stuff

Only comment I have is about the fingerprint door - in the event of a power outage, I would very much imagine the door simply wouldn't open. If it became a jail door, a key could open the door, defeating the entire point. It would be a risk to take. I would also suggest a door type, and yes xander, ...

Re: [Suggestion] Buying prisons off the Steam Workshop

I disagree with xander; buying prisons could be implemented with the "tamper with anything" mentality included. If you want to download the prisons off the workshop and use them, go for it, but if you want to play the game as a businessman/architect with an ever expanding realm, you would ...

Re: Cheating the system

*bangs bleeding head against another wall* These "cheats" have been known a very long time and have been posted in at least 50 topics by now.. May I suggest this feature for you? I think you're overreacting there, sir. I was merely posting a thought. And for the record, I couldn't find an...
