Introversion's stance on Valve's new paid workshop policy

I'm sure many of you have already heard the news, but to recap: Valve recently introduced a new policy, using Skyrim as a test case, whereby people who upload content to the Skyrim workshop on Steam can now charge actual money for the ability to access and use the mod. Mods can use a fixed price or ...

Re: I think the game is too easy in the current state (alpha

The problem is that there just isn't much in the way of prisoner antagonism right now - sure, they'll start shit over outright mistreatment, but once you get a good setup that meets all of their basic needs, even max-security dudes become pretty complacent. We need things like prisoners developing b...

[Suggestion] Prisoner hierarchy and vigilanteism

In real prisons, inmates typically reside within a hierarchy based on the crimes they were imprisoned for, with said hierarchy commanding a certain amount of respect and influence or scorn and hatred; regular murderers, robbers and organized crime types fill out the top, drug users and petty thieves...

Wow, this went racist pretty quickly... Wait, really? As daft a bastard I'll admit to being at regular inftervals, I don't think that particular factor played into this particular bit of bad judgement. v:(v West just seems a logical assumption of a possible nod/parody/pastiche based on his relative...

Yeah, this seems waaaaaaay more like a processor issue than something in the game's code, I'm playing on an i5 Core Duo - certainely no spring chicken as processors go - and construction goes like that.

If you're at all the type to mess around with source files (or you just read the forums around the time A10 came out) you've probably stumbled upon this dude: http://i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u566/christopher1007/PA%20Alpha%2010/advisor_rightwing_zpsf763bc9b.png Ever since I found this while thum...

To build on this, a policy where you could mandate searches of visitors to prevent smuggling would be interesting. REALLY piss off the prisoners they were visiting, though.

I'm hopin' for dogs, myself. That or some more uses of various types of contraband (prisoners committing suicide, OD'ing on drugs, using tools to start breakouts). Though having capital punishment finally implimented would be...interesting. Maybe start age tracking and the like from when a prisoner ...

[Suggestion] List # of jobs room supports, other job stuff

Something that really buggers me about the way room jobs are calculated is that, unless you can remember the specific space rates for each type, you can't really tell how MANY jobs a given room's going to support until you build it, zone it and check it in the deployment screen - low-ball or high-ba...

Looking through the data files, riot guards have 4x the health rating for regular guards and prisoners but some of the likely weapons used by prisoners (shanks, sheers, hammers, etc) are several times as powerful per-hit as the batons guards use and up to 4x as powerful in terms of damage over time....

The way mine is set up works quite nicely, however you may need to modify it slightly based on your prison design. Sleep 12-6 Nothing at 7 Shower at 8 (NOTE: I have my showers inside the cells, if you don't you may wish to set this as Shower 7-8 ) Work 9-11 (NOTE: I have my prisoners work before th...

What's wrong with staff doors? Not double-wide and I don't think they'd properly function for the front gate, not to mention there could be issues with released prisoners not being able to leave prisons since they aren't technically "staff". And it just doesn't look right to have anything...

[Suggestion] Staff security access setting in Staff screen?

The larger your prison gets and the more developed it becomes, the more hectic things tend to get: more prisoners means you need more chefs to prepare food, more workers to build facilities and handle workshop deliveries, more doctors to deal with injuries. Depending on how thoroughly you've develop...
