Re: [Suggestion] Scared Straight Program

Those programs are right on the edge of being abusive (in fact, I'm rather of the opinion that they are indeed abusive; that it's been turned into entertainment is enough to make me hurl), and there's no evidence, at all, that they work. Why, oh, why, should it be in PA? I mean hell, I *get* that pe...

Try looking for them in the save file. Look for entities showing damage of 100% or some-such, and whack them.

Getting comfy with the save file is pretty much required to handle the alpha. :P

Wait...people make jokes here about roughing-up prisoners (simulated human beings), rape and murder all the time, but we're going to get iffy when it comes to dead cats (simulated non-humans)?

"Gay" has a whole other meaning that runs parallel - it has nothing to do with homosexuality and everything to do with stupidity. That's something every Internet warrior should know. I just taught you something. The remark isn't just disparaging toward those it's directed at. The w...

It really seems like they slap this stuff together the day before releasing it. That's somewhat accurate. It's an alpha . Things will be good and broken, features won't work right, silly things will happen as code is smushed together. All we can do is point out the issues so Chris (above) can fix '...

Lethal Force has to be the very last option when something goes terribly wrong. Ever. Should be, but I think years of blowing virtual humans to bits at the slightest whim (even in games where the player is supposed to be a member of law enforcement, like LA Noire), has muddled people's expectations...

In Real Life prison riot guards get live ammunition when the shit is boiled and ready to explode. Yes, but they still need to follow strict guidelines about what level of force is used. Lethal force is...well it should be a last resort, but after some reflection, I realized that worldwide, this thi...

Click and hold down shift...

Wait, not implemented yet. Not saying it will be, but given how many people have been trained to deal with walls in other games like that, it's probably the easiest.

I doubt it. For one, a bunch of PA uses Lua, namely for holding settings in a readable format. I don't even know if iOS can support that, but I suspect no. Apple has a nasty habit of demanding that anything for iOS be written in Objective-C (nothing else will work unless you jailbreak and add suppor...

If it tossed the guard to the door right away though, there would be no time to create a buffer of people trying to get through, so the guard could quickly get caught in a cycle of running back to open the door for a few small groups instead of one larger one. It's a balancing act. In any event, twe...

I doubt this is intentional behaviour. The staff actor AI ought to stick to the routine during bang up. Lockdown, perhaps not. That's really the shit-has-hit-the-fan-time-to-panic-everyone button.

Easiest solution would be to allow the designation of some doors that staff could open by themselves. It leaves the whole worker opening the front door for an escapee issue solved, solves this nagging annoyance for players, and adds some depth to the dynamic of ease vs. security. Until then, remembe...
