IV games all reach PC Gamer top 100!

Postby vic » Mon Jul 28, 2008 10:29 am

Good news today when we found out that all 3 Introversion titles had reached PC Gamer's list of top 100 PC titles - and without any nefarious actions on our part, honest!

Uplink: 70
Defcon: 59
Darwinia: 28

Well done chaps and thanks to PC Gamer for their continued support :D

Edit: the lovely fellas at PC Gamer have just launched a website where you can now vote for your favourite PC Game, with the express aim of producing the ultimate Top 100 PC list of all time.

All of Introversion's games are on the list and it'd be great if you had a spare moment to vote for us! To access the site, and voting application, visit http://www.pcgamertop100.com/ Users will have to sign up which is very easy (they just require an email address) and then use the app to cast your vote. You'll also have the chance to win a PC worth £1000 from Cyberpower for making the effort.

I have a feeling PC Gamer were secretly quite impressed with the loyalty and passion of our community when you managed to get Uplink to #11 in the last vote. So don't be shy, let's see if we can get one of our games into the top 10!

All well deserved, good to see some of the media still have some good taste. :)

I expect to see Multiwinia in there next year.

Also nice to see you're still in there.

I'm sure this has been the case for umpteen years now, and every time a new game gets released it joins the old ones up there :D Congratulations!

It amuses me that the guilty party of the first incident is now staff.

What amuses me along with that is the fact PCGamer took it as they did and then joked about it the year after.

Good sports overall.

The following year they asked us to not do that again. :P

Was well funny.

Defcon is clearly under rated

I was expecting:
Defcon > Darwinia > Uplink
I really liked Darwinia, but I don't think it is a game for everyone. Defcon seem like a game that would draw a larger crowd.

For me, it would admittedly be

Darwinia > Uplink > Defcon

---

Also, those ratings are just genius!

Well, let's face it, Kieron Gillen wants Introversion's babies. ;)

(Does he still even do stuff for PCG? I haven't read it in a long while...)

Haha, guess what got mentioned in the latest PC Gamer UK podcast? Discussing their launch of a website to do a reader's top 100, and describing how they used to do it with little pieces of paper: "We stopped because the Uplink users hacked", "Which I'm sure will happen again" :P

I'd wager somewhere close to Darwinia.

Hehe, just listened to the podcast from PCGamer.

They really like us for "hacking" them. We must do it again this time for the readers one.
