Beta 2 available for download
Beta 2 of the Darwinia beta is now available for download and testing. We'd like all testers to download it immediately. We've reset everyone to 3 downloads remaining. We've also changed the System Info tool, so everyone will need to re-download the system info tool, re-run it, and re-submit their results. Then you'll be able to download and run beta 2. This version isn't compatible with the last, so just delete your old beta1 and extract beta2 in its place.
Issues fixed:
- Fixed sysinfo tool crash for pentium3 and celeron systems
- Fixed officer selection / deselection crash
- Fixed hang when setting officer orders to Radar Dish, and your officer is too close
A lot of the reported class A bugs are related to the officer selection / deselection bug, so we'll go through and close all of those threads down now. You can help us out here by clearly marking threads for bugs that have been solved in the latest version. Sometimes we will post a final reply, eg "fixed in beta2". Sometimes not. If we sound terse, its because we have many many bug reports to get through. Don't take it personally.
Thanks to everyone who helped us get this beta test of the ground. We've been very impressed with the speed and vigor that our beta testers are showing in testing the game for us.

Forgive a newbie... I completely understand the concept of closed beta, however the forum gives a confused image: is it closed or open?
If it is open, what do I do?

I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

Its more of a closed beta - but it does take on members of the public. Read http://forums.introversion.co.uk/darwinia/viewtopic.php?t=52 for more information.
