We're doing another round of maintenance to Uplink -- bug fixing and the like, with a view to an updated patch. We have enhanced the bug-reporting capabilities, so if you get a crash report, we should have a better chance of being able to debug it.
The changes can be found here. There is some new resolution changing code in there as well, so please try it out especially if you have a widescreen monitor. If you have any comments about the patch or bug reports, please post them in the "Bug Reports" forum.
If you have a crash, hopefully the crash reporter will come up and send the crash dump to our server. It should then give you a crash reference, which you can use to relate your bug report on the forums to the uploaded crash report. You can also find the crash reference at the top of the ERRORLOG.TXT file.
Note that you will need to have an existing installation of Uplink to test the patch.
Please download the patch here.

That statement alone makes me happy.

Actually, Burningmace, John asked me for a list of stuff I fixed before, one which was the error report system and another the wide-screen res one. I also had an auto-updater system. But I don't see that here. Or LanLade. Or a number of other fixes.
Also, while I'm at it...
John! Uplink as Vanilla code is memory leaky! I offer you Slasher 2.0 if you wish to fix these
Also, tiff handling is better... in part because of updates, but also adding support for certain things, such as the excessive/stupid tags Adobe Photoshop tends to add. It really clutters the log.
