Nonisotrope scanning pattern

Postby Cornflakes » Tue May 02, 2017 4:01 pm

is it intentional that the scanner isnt scanning isotropically?

i scanned a few things very closely and thought the cross pattern was something story relevant xD

It is intentional. I don't know exactly what the reasoning is, but IV suggest in their videos that it is meant to reproduce actual LIDAR images that they have seen.

if "they saw some lidar images doing that" is the reason then they looked at really badly constructed scanners.
because that giant hole in the scan coverage isnt something acceptable for something thats supposed to picture an environment as accurately as possible

I am having hard time to understand the contextual meaning for the term "Isotropy" in the game .. :?
How can I use it in a sentence :?:
