Mods with Steam

Postby Marushyne » Tue Jun 25, 2013 12:56 am

I am using a Mac, with steam, to play Defcon. I was wondering if there is a way and how you install mods on a Mac with steam?

Mac Users : Install MODs by unzipping them here:
~/Library/Application Support/DEFCON/mods

Directly from the site. Or try going into your steam directory, then steam apps, common, then u find defcon there, im on pc/windows so, don't trust me. Go with the option up there.

That doesn't seem to work... the mods show up when I click on mods but they do not work

There are 3 clicks required. 1st selecting the mod, 2nd "activate", 3rd "apply".
Did you do so?

Or the directory structure of the mod itself might be wrong.

It should be like:
'DEFCON/mods/Example-Mod-Name/data/graphics'
for a graphical mod, or 'earth' at the end for a map mod, or a mix.

put the mods in that folder, then activate in game, and enjoy!

How about Steam on PC with Windows XP?

Is it the same except the path where the DEFCON folder is? Or does it work completely different?

EDIT:

OK, i get it for my own.

For everyone who wants to know:

If you are playing via Steam and using Windows XP on a PC, you have to go to

X:\Programme\Steam\SteamApps\common\Defcon\

and create the folder "Mods". There you have to unpack a packed mod.

Then start DEFCON and activate the mod via "MODS" in the Main Menu.

Return to “Mod Projects”
