mod trouble

Postby BMN » Mon Mar 26, 2012 1:31 am

I recently was interested in getting mods and a few days ago I tried to download some using advice previously acquired. I am on a Mac using steam. It seems like I have the mods in the right place, but when I start defcon, it says there are no mods
I have them here: Library>Application Support>Steam>SteamApps>common>defcon>mods>(some mods I downloaded, such as SATCON and nightcon)
could anyone help me please? do I have them in the wrong place?

not too sure about mods with steam...

im on mac. the thing you could try (which wouldn't hurt) is to make a new folder on

user/library/app support/ [[new folder labeled "Defcon" ]] / [[ new folder labeled "Mods" ]]

doesn't hurt.

btw, did steam make those folder extensions, (common, defcon, mods) or did you?

edit:

ignore the Italics... they did it right, go into your game, and activate them... (sounds stupid, but sometimes i forget to do that)

steam made the extensions. How do I activate them?

that's the absolute first thing I tried. There's nothing there. no mods selected, an "unknown" and an emply space where a list should be with a "download more mods" at the bottom

Hmm....

Is it possible the mods are no longer compatible with the latest version ?
I know that Gridmod wouldn't work for me , hence why Rofl started his own mod.

that's the most likely reason... :\ but i don't know why it wouldn't i just downloaded solar mod, (to see if it works) and its fine. i can see it in the list.

hmm... quit defcon - let me send you a mod i know works....

http://www.sendspace.com/file/627jm9

download that, put it there.

EDIT:

Unknown mod is also known as Satcom..... stupid, but that's what it is.

nope. The mod list is empty
(btw, the "unknown is on the right, right below this big box that says "no mods selected". So it is not in the list)

any more ideas please? :?
