It's interesting to see North Korea situation escalating while I'm making this mod. I have decided to give the US access to seas around south korea and japan, but only enough room to place 1 fleet. I think it is better to offer the players more choices, so they can make their own strategy. You don't HAVE to place a fleet near south korea. You could place subs there, but it would be easily stopped by china. You could place carriers there, it's all up to you.

In line with this choice idea, I will give the European faction access to place 1 facility on the falklands islands. Perhaps a radar, to scout the south passageway, or perhaps a suisilo or airbase. It is all up to you.

South Africa is going to be removed and replaced with India.

I am also doing a lot of minor work (sometimes by the pixel) to make the mod better looking.

Only possible to place one fleet? I don't think it is possible to do it. Only buildings "occupy" some place, ships can be placed almost one on top of another.

Synapse,

The "Hotfile" links both say that your Modern Warfare mod has either been deleted by you or been removed for "copyright infringement". I checked Zach's DEFCON Mod List, and "Modern Warfare" isn't there. Is there another way for me to download your mod?

Some automated infringement bot must have mistaken it for COD. No point downloading anyway, I will be releasing a new version very shortly.

You did it again, a bump just for affirmation. Even thought last post is just 5 months ago and there is a slight chance Synapse might notice it, but still please stop it.
Anyway i've got more to say here.

Looks great

The mod looks amazing but every time I try to apply it, my defcon shuts down. Now I know this post may not go answered but the mod looks quite awesome and I would love to play it.

Are you sure you have the folder structure set up correctly? Please tell us what yours looks like as well as if you have Steam, non-Steam, and/or mac version of Defcon.

I am using the mac version that I bought a few months ago. I am having trouble with mods in general. I have them saved in my application's support folder, and inside that I have defcon and inside that I have mods. Now I unzipped the mod inside the folder but when I applied it, I got nothing. However when I moved the unzipped part from the folder that was created inside the mod folder, when I opened defcon and activated the mod, the picture showed. Then when I tried to apply the mod, there was a quick message (probably the processing mod box) then my defcon shut down. I can paste the error report if need be but I don't know if that is needed yet

There are a couple of mac users here that could help, but I'm going to point to a post that may or may not help:

  1. First off, there is no reason to lock this topic. It will eventually fade out of existence on its own.
  2. Second, this is probably not the right place to ask questions about the Mac version of the game. The correct place to do so would be on the forums of the company that actually publish the Mac version.
  3. Finally, just for anyone else who has the same question in the future, there are two possible problems that you could have been having (since you didn't post your solution, I don't know which it was). Either you were putting the mods folder in the wrong place, or you were not creating it. In the first situation, remember that the folder needs to go in

    Code: Select all

    ~/Library/Application Support/DEFCON/mods

    and not

    Code: Select all

    /Library/Application Support/DEFCON/mods

These may look the same, but that tilde (~) out front means something. It tells you to look at the folder called "Library" in your Home directory, rather than the Library folder in the root directory. Second, Defcon does not automatically create a mods folder. You have to do that yourself in the correct location.
