New Fallout Mod

New Fallout Mod
I have browsed the forums finding one attempt at a Fallout themed mod. I want to undertake the task of actually finishing one. This WILL be my first mod, however, so I was hoping for some community-based help. I so far have figured that I'm going to use a map like the one used for the "Shattered Union" mod. I'm going to include areas from all of the Fallout games, East and West coast alike. I currently have a map in mind, but thought that I would get some opinions on it first.

Now, obviously, I can't have 13 Commonwealths, so I need to find a way to divide them up. First off, Alaska and Hawaii are gone. That still leaves 11 Commonwealths to divide up. Any ideas? For the different units, I've decided on several different ideas:

The orginal idea of having cities represented by Vault doors is probably staying. The airbase is probably staying the same, and I still don't know what to do for a submarine or a Aircraft Carrier, however, although I have a couple of ideas I'll post later.
Any other suggestions would be welcomed.

I think it sounds pritty cool Im no moder but I love them its about time some one mad a mod like this good luck
and if this will help any I think for the territorys that they should go like this #1north weast and north #2southweast and four states #3texas and plains #4midweast and east centeral #5gulf and southeast #6columbia, eastern, and new england hope that helps

This mod is NOT dead. I upgraded to a new computer recently, and I'm JUST restaring development of this mod. Will post EARLY pictures soon. OH! I forgot to also add I have found several east coast locations. Current location list is:
-Broken Banks
-Washington D.C.
-Adams Air Force Base

-Erie Stretch
-Great Lanta
-The Abbey of the Road

Ronto is thought to be Toronto, Canada, and does not fit into the "US Only" scope of this mod. However, I am tempted to just include the whole planet. Thoughts? Opinions?

Whole planet is better, imo. Otherwise you just have a big land mass with some sea around, kinda boring gameplay wise.
And for the overall style, I imaging, just using the iconic graphics of fallout would lead to a more persistent look and feel.
Oh, and as things are in the Defcon world, its NOT advisable to do a critical mod at all, means do not change the map. Critical mods are just not played. Its ugly but true anyway. A purely graphical mod has a significant higher chance to actually have users. But of course you should make the mod you want, just be warned.
Looking forward to get this thing.

I have decided that this is going to be a purely graphical mod. I may also do some additional "Brain Candy" up for the main menu (All Fallout related, of course). To the Fallout Wiki!!! AWAY!! At any rate, the pictures will be up in less than a weeks time. I promise. I'm re-doing the Icons for EVERYTHING. Any opinion on if I should use just Post-war items, or if Pre-war items count too.

Anyway, All that is happening here is that you're passing a bitmap with an invalid bit depth. The game will accept 4bit, 8bit and 24bit bitmaps. If you're sure that the bitmap is one of those bit depths, then make sure it's not somehow damaged.

Status Update
Well, I have finished the creation of the units, and the Naval units, although not the best looking have been figured out.
The Units are as Follows
Bomber: Chineese Bomber (Fallout 3)
Fighter: Vertibird (Fallout 2 & 3)
Battleship: Modified Duchess Gambit (Fallout 3)
Carrier: PMV Valdez (Fallout 2)
Sub: SSN-37-1A (Fallout 3)
SAM: Small Guns
Silo: Big Guns
Radar: Awareness (Fallout 2)
Nuke: Atomic Bomb (See the logic there?)
The NEW GUI is about 60% done at the moment, and it's starting to ALL come together.

Don't mean to disrespect, but I liked this mod http://forums.introversion.co.uk/defcon/viewtopic.php?t=3634 much better and he had some original art to back it up. Too bad it's not finished.

Back from the dead.
Firstly, thanks for the attention. I haven't had much free time to work on this mod, so progress has crawled to a halt. Also, I had little to no access to the proper files. Now, I would like to know what people think about the possible replacements for the Whiteboard, Erase all, Info, Orders, Show All, and Territories icons for the GUI. I have yet to come up with anything, so, I'm turning to the community. Also, what do you mean by this mod having no orginal art. All of the ships, and the Nuke and Bomber are my work. Another graphic designer, whom left after sending me the Vertibird, is the only other individual working here. Please comment
