Allen's Unit Mod - Download Now

Postby allen_idaho » Sat Oct 25, 2008 1:44 pm

This is a small mod that i've created which does exactly what the title suggests. I have basically attempted to make the ships and aircraft more realistic by making them more closely resemble real world vehicles. This is a list of changes:

AIRCRAFT:
Fighter - Now looks like an F-35 Lightning II
Bomber - Now looks like a B2 Spirit Bomber

SHIPS:
Battleship - Now a US Nimitz Class Destroyer
Carrier - Now it looks more like an actual carrier
Sub - Now it looks more like an actual sub

NUKE:
The nuke has been changed to more closely resemble a triton ICBM.

The mod and screenshots are available here:

Enjoy. :)

Screenshots are posted with the file. Just follow the link in the first post. I don't think i can embed them with the file server I used.

The screenshots don't look as good as it does ingame. And the download is only 56 kb. So if anything, you should give it a try.

And if you are still rocking the demo version, you can still use it. Simply do the following:

1. Open the Defcon folder.
2. Create a new folder to backup the original main.dat file. Copy and paste it inside.
3. Open the main.dat file in the main defcon folder with winzip or winrar.
4. Drag and drop the new files into the "graphics" folder
5. close winzip/winrar and start up the game normally. The changes should have taken effect.

To get rid of it, simply replace the modified main.dat file with the original version which you made a copy of in a backup folder.
