can anyone tell me how to get my original key back it somehow has been deleted... my authentication was valid as I reloaded the game from steam but I cant get anything

Works fine here.

Try deleting the 'authkey' file in [Your Steam Directory]\steamapps\common\defcon ?

My Key is just the letter d now I am not sure why I didnt delet my key... very wierd..it say's I have to play as demo. I was wanting to play defcon last night was even ready to buy a new copy. But come to find it say's I allready have copy and that I can only buy it as a gift lol..
