Crash on any gamemode

Postby animatordc » Fri Jul 04, 2008 7:41 pm

So, simplest way to describe my issue is this. I have played the game before, loved it, had little issue with Steam.

After a long absence I reinstalled the game, loaded fine, but when I click on ANY mode (new game, rolling demo, tutorial, etc.) the game crashes instantly.

Here is the actual error I get.

here is the debug file, no blackbox could be found. All drivers are up to date.

Strange, logs looks fine.

When trying to join a multiplayer game do you see the available servers?

Have you check that your Firewall/Anti-Virus allow Defcon to open _server_ ports?

I don't use a firewall, ports are forwarded on my router. I use AVG 8.0 for antivirus and have active file scanning turned off.

The available servers window pops up but before a single one can be displayed I get the same crash.

This is about the 4th or 5th thread on the same issue. I suffer from it myself. Nobody has been able to come up with a solution.

Edit: I guess I should say it's a similar issue. I don't get an error message like that.

Does it also crash in bfllr.dll? If so, update network card driver?

The network card driver is up to date.

Though it may be an issue that I am using a Killer NIC
