As long as it's got a clip from Duck & Cover, I'm happy.

Tactic: "Just returning home"

Postby Free_Radical » Tue Dec 04, 2007 2:59 am

Good idea MVPE. I'll start. This recording from MOR 2007-12-02 (5:30 - 6:38) deserves a mention. In it, Ace Rimmer (Asia) behind badly, has only two bombers left. He allies with EU and USSR, slyly slides his two remaining bombers in with some of EU's returning bombers on a direct line back to a EU airbase, and proceeds to backstab and nuke Moscow and Lenningrad (perfect timing, btw) while passing over them (which unbelievably had yet to be hit by anyone) for a damn-near come from behind victory. Perfect execution of the "just flying over..nothing to see here" backstab technique.

PLEASE someone dig around and find some good naval nuking since I don't have time X)

It's one of the trickier things in the game since ya gotta account for bombers, fighters, radar ranges, fear tactics, direction of enemy navy, etc etc

I don't know about recordings, but the amount of topics in the forums about fleet nuking (most made by me asking how) is ridiculous. Thanks to Ace's and Hyperion's tips, even I can do it

Well, since nobody else has posted anything. I'll say in this game there was a moment I was particularlly proud of.

Specifically I'm talking about using passive subs. The most underused and underappreciated tactic in the game I think. I had two empty carriers and two full subs I wanted to use but there was a bb patroling. With nothing else around, I lured him in with my carrier via his land radar, kept my carrier out of his bb radar (advanced, said "hello", and retreated before he could fire) and then used my carriers radar to keep an eye on him while he could no longer see me (not in land radar any more) and used my subs to kill his bb. Of course, Hyperion figured it out right away, but on most players, they'd never notice or think it was unseen bombers.

It's about 4:05 in-game time.

On a side note, there's some nice fighter relay to reload carriers at various points.

Yeah it was a good move on your part, i think i called you a sneaky bastard or something in the alliance chat, lol, but i didn't have enough assets to go after those subs once i knew where they were (i.e. i had 1 bomber left  ).

2 questions

How do you record using Dedcon?

Can you increase playback speed?

You put

Code: Select all

Record recording.dcrec
into your configuration file.

echelon101 wrote:Can you increase playback speed?
You say "/speed 60" while watching the playback, "/speed 10" goes back to normal.
