Bomber launching from carriers

Postby _Ender_ » Tue Sep 04, 2007 7:28 pm

I was just wondering if I'm the only one doing this. I sail my carriers in the direction that I'm launching my bombers (usually a 90 degree angle from target, but not always) to compress the wave better. Is this standard for everyone? Does anyone have any other tricks from launching bomber waves?

I've done that before too, when I actually manage to keep my ships alive for more than the first few seconds of Defcon 3

Compress the wave better?? The more you compress your waves, the more effect will gain nuking of this waves! And besides each fighter will kill 2 bombers at a go, not one.

Works better than a normal wave for breaking through to a silo though.

I've done it once or twice but find it not much more helpful to my waves. Plus, the whole proximity kill thing discourages it.

the only problem with that is that it means fighters do not have to fly as far to kill your bombers and will shoot more bombers down in their given air time

When I'm lazy, in a hurry, or far from the bombing target and desperate, I do this, moving my carriers and launching the bombers directly towards the target. This gives two reasonably closely packed bomber waves, and you can determine their formation by placing your carriers accordingly and timing the launches.
