Damaging silo nukes?

I have observed that if you lets a couple of nukes hit a silo in air defense mode, but not fully destroy it, the number of nukes contained int it go down by a certain amount, usually 5 or 6 nukes disapear after its been struck. Am I imagining this and just forgot that I had fired them, or is this something to worry about.
Use it or lose it.

Yes, you lose a nukes when a silo is hit. You also lose planes when an airfield is hit.

You lose half the current number of nukes in both silos and airfields when they're hit, along with half the planes for silos.

so generally if you know a nuke is inbound and your airbase is in bomber mode; send out your bombers. They can always re-land at a seperate airbase (or even a carrier!)

Wait, you mean you were a beta tester and don't know about the silo's supply of space-planes? If you manage to get them all launched hten you obtain the STARWARS laser defence system. Yep.

wow Monty, you replaced the missile icon with the bomber one.

Funny, because I wanted to say that it looked as if the submarines were launching bombers. Wouldn't THAT be fun :D
