Steam Modding (No, not a ZOMG FBI DUNT WERK topic)

Postby AC_PureRage » Wed Jul 04, 2007 8:58 pm

Quick overview: I played the game long ago and loved it, except I somehow managed to lose my copy of the game. So not too long ago, I decided to buy the Darwinia+Uplink package available on Steam. My question is, if I were to purchase the DevCD, would I be able to make mods compatible with Steam, or is the source code incompatible with that of the Steam version of Uplink? Furthermore, would these mods also be compatible with the IV copies of the game, assuming that they too are updated to the latest version?

Thanks for any replies.

To be honest I don't think the mods would be Steam compatable, but best one to answer that would be frenchfrog, our resident patch maker and programming genius for Uplink.

From Uplink 1.55 and up, Dev CD mods made with version 1.55 should works on Steam and IV version.

You can currently test the beta of Uplink Steam 1.55 .
